Combs Bobbin Lacemakers was formed in 2013 to continue the craft that Daphne Scarff had passed onto her daughter-in-law Jill in 1979.  Jill had taken a break from the craft whilst raising her family. Daphne continued to make bobbin lace up to her passing.

Jill formed the group with a few lacemakers, some completely new to the craft.  Daphne joined in with the group as and when she was able to.  The ladies have continued to meet every fortnight since the group was formed to learn, share the skill and create a friendship of others new to the hobby.

We are still, through the times of COVID-19 talking and sharing patterns and skills, all complying with regulations set out by the government.

We have a teacher that either comes to us or is available on line or by phone to make sure we are kept busy with our lace bobbins.

In September we all search for patterns for Christmas making stars for the top of the tree, lace angels to hang on the tree and even a lace nativity scene is in the making.
