Oaks Meadow Project: Autumn Update
Recently we had some very exciting news that the Oaks Meadow Project has been selected as one of just four sites in Suffolk to be designated as a Healing Wood. We have already had a visit from the Healing Wood leads and they have advised and will support with some of the funding for the design, prep & planting of the Reflective Area, as well as hedging, trees, the copse, benches & signage.
One of their suggestions is to have an acorn collecting day from the great oak and to home grow saplings to plant on the meadow in the future. If you would like to take part in this activity please come to the meadow on SUNDAY NOVEMBER 7TH at 11:00am hot drinks & bacon baps will be available.
The Project will be a year old in November & as a registered charity we need to have an AGM. The Battisford Community Centre has been booked for WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 1st at 6:30pm The proceedings will commence with mulled wine & mince pies followed by an update on all that has happened this year and plans for 2022.
There will be a Table Top Sale at the Battisford Community Centre on SATURDAY DECEMBER 4th 10:00am – 2:00pm to raise funds for the continued work on the meadow.
Everybody is welcome to attend any or all of these events. If you would like more regular updates and/or help with volunteering with the project, please email Desiree Shelley Chair of Trustees. oaksmeadow@gmail.com
